The brushes are made either from nylon bristles with added abrasive grains or from steel bristles, which allows for quick and effective aging of various types of wood. The advantage of these brushes is that they can be used with an angle grinder that has speed control. In this case, you also need an adapter to mount the brush on the angle grinder or use it on dedicated brushing machines.

The brushes achieve the aged wood effect by hollowing out the softer parts of the wood's annual rings. Depending on the type of wood – harder woods require the use of several different brushes, while a single brush with plastic bristles and added abrasive grains suffices for softer types of wood.
